By Katherine Bethany, FSAVE – President, SAVE International
By this time next month your SAVE International Board of Directors will be holding a formal Strategic Planning session. We have hired a facilitator to lead us through the process. The outcome will be an update to our Strategic Plan and an Action Item list that will guide the Society for the next couple of years.
Your input is critical to this endeavor. Many of you provided the top three items that you would like for SAVE leadership to focus on in the coming year. These will be used to help us in the Strategic Planning session. If you did not get your items in, but have suggestions, please contact any of your Board members or the SAVE Business Office with your thoughts.
My hope is that the Strategic Planning session will help the SAVE Board focus on only the most important aspects of our shared mission. We must ensure that all of our members (owners, consultants, engineers, analysts, designers; those involved with manufacturing, construction, facilities, processes, or products; whether they are certified or not certified, etc.) are able to obtain from SAVE the tools, techniques and support they need as they embrace, use or review the Value Methodology results. This is not easy, and each Board faces the challenge in different ways. This is to be expected, as we have been elected from our diverse membership, and represent all the various types of members/users of the Value Methodology.
Stay tuned to your issues of Value World in the coming months as we will be updating you on the results of this important session.
