Where has the time gone? This is my last Value World article as President of SAVE International. It has been an adventurous two years. I want to thank all the wonderful staff and volunteers who make the Society run and make it so much easier on the President. I am not going to name them all as I will inevitably forget someone critical (a product of retiree/older age brain).
It is not easy running a volunteer organization as everyone is busy with multiple commitments on their time, including running companies/earning a paycheck, family, etc. But even with the time issues, we managed to accomplish quite a bit. This is a direct result of the large number of people who are willing to help out even if it is only for an hour or two a month.
As Renee Hoekstra takes on the leadership of this organization, please continue to support her in the future endeavors of SAVE. I am looking forward to seeing how Renee’s great infectious enthusiasm and passion for the Value Methodology help us to grow the Society. She is already working with the Board of Directors to make sure they, as a whole, work together strategically. This should help focus the Society’s leadership team and hopefully lead to more consistency in the direction of the various actions.
Again, thank you for the opportunity to serve as your President. I treasurer the memory and look forward to continuing to serve the Society in an advisory capacity.
