Rakesh Shreewastav, former Director of Chapter Relations for SAVE International and current member of the Board of Directors of Value Analysis Canada, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) as part of the recent Governor in Council (GIC) appointments made by the Government of Canada. Rakesh also served as a Director of the SAVE Greater Michigan Chapter and on the Board of Engineers Canada and Professional Engineers Ontario.
FBCL owns, manages and operates international bridges and associated structures in Sault Ste. Marie, Point Edward, Lansdowne (Thousand Islands) and Cornwall, Ontario. FBCL’s mandate is to provide the highest level of stewardship so that its international bridges and associated structures are safe and efficient for users.
The FBCL Board is composed of seven (7) members, including the Board Chair and the Chief Executive Officer, all of whom are appointed by or with the approval of the Governor in Council on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport, Canada and the Cabinet. The Chair and other Directors occupy part-time positions and are deemed independent from Management.
Rakesh expresses his gratitude, “I am very humbled and honoured by this offer from the Government of Canada to serve on FBCL Board. I look forward to using my past national and provincial board experiences to serve on this very important national Board”.
Rakesh’s appointment to FBCL is effective May 2019 for a term of 4 years. More under these links:
