Happy New Year to all of you! I am certainly looking forward to a new outlook with 2021. Throughout 2020 I felt like we were quite reactive with the Value Summit and we discussed changes after everything was in place. For 2021 we are starting out with a more pro-active approach.
With a new year there are often a number of changes in many things and the annual SAVE International Value Summit is experiencing some changes as well. The first change I want to tell you about is that we are moving the date of our in-person 2021 Value Summit to later in the year. This is not an easy decision, as many things are scheduled around our traditional event in June. However, looking at the roll-out of vaccines and other factors, the planning committee and SAVE Board have made the difficult decision to make this change.
We are still in negotiations with the venue hotel over the exact dates we can shift to, so I do not have firm dates I can share at this time. Even with the change in dates, our venue is not changing, and we will still be at the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa in Glendale, Arizona. I will commit that by the next issue of Value World we will have firm dates for the in-person portion of the 2021 Value Summit.
Please do not release the hold on those June dates just yet. Recognizing that it is important to continue to connect and provide content to our membership, we are now looking at holding a brief virtual event in June at the time when our larger Value Summit was proposed. Since this is in the early stages of development, I do not have much more to share at this point except to let everyone know it is coming.
Paper and course submissions for the 2021 Value Summit have closed and we are in the process of evaluation. As always, I am pleased with what I have seen so far and I promise you can look forward to some interesting presentations in 2021.
I am looking forward to sharing many other exciting details about the 2021 Value Summit over the coming months. I can tell you that I have been to the area myself and it is a great location with shopping, good food and entertainment next door.
I hope to see all of you at the 2021 Value Summit at the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa in Glendale, Arizona in Fall 2021.
