Thank you to all of you whom completed our quick survey on moving the 2021 Value Summit. The results are in and over 50% of respondents favored moving our in-person Value Summit to June 2022 as their first choice.
As such, we will once again be hosting a Virtual Value Summit June 5-9, 2021. In keeping with our new desire to make SAVE International more globally focused and to address some of the concerns raised with the timing in 2020, we are also going to be trying a new format for our virtual event.
The big news is that we will have an exciting new component to the 2021 Virtual Value Summit. Thanks to inspiration that came from our discussions with the SAVE international affiliates, as part of the 2021 virtual event, we will be having an Around the World Virtual Value Crawl. More details will follow in future editions of Value World as we get closer to the event; however, for now I can share that this will involve having a 24-hour period where we will have a series of introductory remarks in different time zones around the world, including SAVE leadership and local affiliate leadership followed by a session of paper presentations from that area of the globe.
In light of going back to a virtual Value Summit for 2021, we recognize that some members may not have submitted papers or courses due to travel restriction that may now be able to participate. As such, I am happy to announce that we will be reopening our submission site for the 2021 Virtual Value Summit and accept additional papers or course suggestions. More information and a link to the submission site will be emailed in the coming week.
The addition of the Around the World Virtual Value Crawl to the SAVE 2021 Virtual Value Summit means that we could use some additional help on the Summit Planning Committee. Of particular interest would be some members from outside of North America. If you are interested in volunteering to help form and plan this event, please send an email to Maripat Traino, SAVE’s meeting manager, at valuesummit@value-eng.org.
With the decisions made above, we will be scheduling our 2022 Value Summit for June 4-8, 2022 at the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa in Glendale, Arizona. Be sure to save these dates for SAVE’s next in-person event!
