SAVE International moves its PACE agenda forward
I wanted to provide everyone updates on several efforts that the SAVE International Board of Directors is currently engaged in. These include activities that support the four pillars of Promote, Advocate, Certify, and Educate (PACE).
- Promote: Hopefully everyone has had a chance to consider submitting a presentation for the upcoming 2024 Value Summit in Nashville, TN. We have so far received many outstanding submissions and anticipate that there will be a variety of excellent topics that will interest the Value Methodology (VM) community.
- Advocate: The U.S. Advocacy for Value (USAV) Committee is currently planning on meeting this April to develop a strategic plan to lay out USAV’s strategic goals and an action plan. The SAVE Board is looking forward to seeing this plan and support its key priorities in strengthening the use of VM within the U.S. SAVE is also actively engaged with a country that is looking to develop a strong, internal VM capacity. We hope to have more information about that in our next edition of Value World.
- Certify: The new Certification Board has been reviewing existing policies and procedures and updating these to meet the current needs of the VM community. Work is underway, in conjunction with the SAVE Education Committee, to realign testing and certification guidance to align with a refreshed list of core competencies that align with the VM Guide®. Please be sure to read the Certification Forum article in this edition of Value World for more details.
- Educate: The SAVE Education Committee is finishing up the last components of the VMF 1 refresh. The new training will include an eLearning component in conjunction with an instructor led applications course. Stay tuned for more information regarding these changes.
In addition to our PACE agenda, I am pleased to say that SAVE is on a solid financial footing due in part to the excellent work of our Secretary-Treasurer, Tom Fletcher. Further, we are refining our plans to restructure the U.S. chapters of SAVE. We hope to complete this around the time of the Value Summit.
I hope you all continue to do excellent work as we begin to emerge from winter and into springtime. I am eager to see you all at the 2024 Value Summit in Nashville this June!
