“Time keeps on slippin’, slippin’, slippin’, into the future…”
I find myself humming this tune as I sit here formulating a thought for the month. My to-do list keeps growing and time keeps on slippin’.
SAVE International’s PACE mission – Promote, Advocate, Certify, Educate – and our tactics to execute our strategic plan, are at the top of the to-do list for every director of the SAVE board and the certification board. This fact makes me very thankful that SAVE’s volunteers and staff are such remarkable, generous professionals.
Not only are we updating operational systems by integrating the membership, certification, e-learning, bookstore, payments and website into one coordinated software program, but we have been tackling the big issues to ensure the viability and sustainability of our society. We are working to identify the profession’s core competencies and training requirements, ensure that SAVE’s certification program meets international standards, and address our members’ and affiliates’ needs and wants.
So, as we prepare to celebrate next year’s 70th anniversary of Larry’s Miles’ big brainstorm, we look to the future to hone our skills and broaden our reach into industry and government – a marvelous challenge!
