By Mary Ann W. Lewis, FSAVE – President, SAVE International
Over the years, SAVE International has created affiliate relationships with several value societies around the world. Among other operational actions, these agreements enable us to share information and publications. More importantly, we find invaluable opportunities to develop friendships so we may learn from one another.
In October, SAVE and the Value Engineering Society of China (VESC) renewed our affiliate agreement. VESC is managed through the generosity of the professors and staff of Beihang University in Beijing. They are working towards Value Methodology training at the level of University Deans so they may lead by example. We look forward to VESC’s growth and the expansion of VM in education, industry and government in China.
Also in October, SAVE signed a transition agreement with the successor society to the Society of Korean Value Engineers (SKVE), which is now incorporated as the Society of Korean Value Methodology (SKVM). This is a continuation of a long and very successful relationship. We are very happy to look to the future as SKVM broadens its reach in South Korea!
SAVE’s international affiliates are strong and respected societies around the globe, and include:
- Society of Japanese Value Engineering (SJVE)
- Society of Korean Value Methodology (SKVM)
- Value Management Institute of Taiwan (VMIT)
- Indian Value Engineering Society (INVEST)
- Society of Hungarian Value Analysts (SHVA)
- Value Engineering Society of China (VESC)
SAVE also maintains inter-society agreements with friends around the world, specifically:
- Value Analysis Canada (VAC)
- Association of German Engineers (VDI)
- Dutch Knowledge Network and Center for Cost Engineering & Value Management (DACE)
We cherish the relationships we have made, and the brainstorming and actions we are able to perform together to make the Value Methodology’s practice of function-inspired change visible to the world!
