Historic Value!!!
Just over a month ago we celebrated 70 years of Value at the SAVE International 2017 Value Summit in historic Philadelphia. We truly hope that everyone had a wonderful time making new acquaintances and rekindling existing ones within the value community, as well as taking part in the general sessions and individual presentations.
Many thanks to our keynote speakers, Dr. Charles T. Brandon, III, Director of Army Continuous Process Improvement and John P. Kweder, PE, Chief Operating Officer for Alfred Benesch & Company. Special thanks also go out to all of the sponsors, presenters and moderators. You are the ones that make the Summit memorable.
Below are a few of the historic and noteworthy items from this year’s Summit:
- With 220 registrants representing 22 countries, this truly was an international and historic experience. Sixty-seven of the registrants were first time attendees at the Summit, so we are optimistic about the growth and spread of the value methodology.
- How about that President’s Reception?! All who attended enjoyed refreshments and appetizers in the National Constitution Center across from Independence Hall. We were able to mingle and enjoy the evening among 42 life-sized statues of the founding fathers.
- This year we rolled out a new scanning system that documented entry to the individual presentations. We hope and trust this method will be more efficient and streamlined in tracking the needed value certification points.
- We concluded the Summit with a wonderful and enjoyable Awards Banquet where we honored and recognized the best in the value world.
Mark your calendars for next year’s Value Summit being held June 9-12, 2018 in Austin, TX as we start on our next 70 years of delivering value. Hope to see you there!
