In the past, we have encountered numerous issues and questions asking where the many value terms, words and phrases are defined. Better yet, we have found that the same term will have differing definitions depending upon which reference document is used. These differing definitions of terms make it very frustrating to teach and test new VMA and CVS candidates for our profession.
In developing the new certification teaching and testing materials, we found it beneficial to create one reference document that represents the terms and definitions of our profession – the SAVE International® Value Methodology Glossary.
Having one adopted glossary allows everyone to speak one common language that provides clarity of the industry concepts. It will also help educate those who want to learn more about the Value Methodology.
These are also the definitions that new candidates will find on the exams.
This new glossary will be updated periodically. The next update will include financial and performance terms.
The glossary has been created for SAVE International by the hard work of the SAVE International Certification Board in conjunction with the Miles Value Foundation, and may be accessed on the SAVE website here.
